Brad Boyson is an international expert in optimizing human capital and implementing global best practices. Along with being one of the first people worldwide to have earned professional HR certification in two international jurisdictions (USA & Canada), he earned the inaugural designation of Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR). A graduate of both BCIT & UBC business schools, majoring in finance and industrial relations respectively, he also holds a Masters Degree in Science majoring in HR from the Thomas Edison School of Business. While at BCIT he was awarded the Mayne Loomis scholarship for finishing in the top of his class. Currently he is a member of the Special Expertise Panel for Global HR issues for the Society of HR Management (SHRM) and serves on the Item Writing Panel for the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).
Mr. Boyson has complemented his business acumen with additional graduate / masters level studies in computer science and e-commerce. While serving as the national HR manager in Canada for one of the largest corporations in the world, Mitsubishi Corporation, he was promoted to the elite status of International Staff. Thereafter, Mr. Boyson was the Director of HR for the full life cycle of a silicon-based dotcom. His HR Master's thesis, The HR-Leadership Gap, outlines the convergence between strategic HR and the principles of applied leadership.
An accomplished athlete, Mr. Boyson has completed two Ironman triathlons, including the world championship in Hawaii. He has also completed the Sea2Summit adventure race in Whistler British Columbia, the alpine venue of the 2010 Olympic Games. As a teenager he held records in competitive swimming and represented Canada in international ice hockey.
